Pooja earned her MSc in Neurosciences from the National Brain Research Centre in India and a PhD in Neurobiology from the University Haifa in Israel. During her doctoral studies, she investigated mitochondrial dysfunction and metabolic dysregulation in a mouse model of Angelman Syndrome. Excited by the chance to bridge basic research with clinical applications, she joined the SamLab as a postdoctoral fellow in 2026 to study the role of THAP12 in vivo in mouse neurogenesis.
“I joined the SamLab because its research focus closely matches my scientific interests and also because of its collaborative and supportive research environment. Completing my postdoctoral training here will allow me to contribute to clinically relevant research aimed at improving the lives of individuals affected by neurodevelopmental disorders while continuing to grow as an researcher”
Aside from the lab Pooja enjoys enjoy listening to music, watching movies, and talking with friends & family.
